Tragg Posted October 30, 2020 Share #1 Posted October 30, 2020 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi, I have updated the firmware on my M10 once. I believe there have been subsequent firmware updates. If so, how many and where do I go to update my camera? Thanks

Tragg Posted November 2, 2020 Author Share #4 Posted November 2, 2020 The installation instructions for the firmware update state :"You should save your current profiles to the SD card before proceeding with the update". What does this mean and how do I do it?
pedaes Posted November 2, 2020 Share #5 Posted November 2, 2020 (edited) 27 minutes ago, Tragg said: current profile If you have any custom profiles you can save them to a SD card and reload them after updating FW to save having to redo them. Updating FW will wipe them from camera. If you have not got them, ignore. Manual and screen gives clear instruction on process. That said, Profiles only take a few minutes to redo, and if the FW update has changed something relevant you may want to change a Profile anyway. scott kirkpatrick Posted November 2, 2020 Share #6 Posted November 2, 2020 If you want your camera to be set up the same way as you have it before the firmware update, then you must go to the "user profiles" entry, and define a profile, then save it to your card. Then restore it after the new firmware is loaded. Leica firmwares usually remind you to save your profile (but they don't tell you that you must make it one of your named profiles). They often DON'T remind you to reload it after installing new firmware. And not everything gets saved in the profile. Some obscure things, like copyright and owner names or file naming will still have to be reset.
