So far only two respondents have given an unqualified 'Yes'. Interesting. Philip. Genuinely curious - what do you find interesting about that? Are you seeing some correlation or pattern?
Advertisement Posted October 21, 2020 Posted October 21, 2020 Hi bcapphoto, Take a look here If all you owned was an Mx Monochrom, would you be satisfied?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
bcapphoto Posted October 21, 2020 Author Share #42 Posted October 21, 2020 Well - me? The OP? I purchased an M246 from Josh @ Leica Miami and it'll be in today. Cannot wait to try it out and see if it'll be enough for me to swap out my M240 for it.

Hi Bcap. Answering your second question first; no, no correlation nor pattern. As to the 'interesting' bit; although there has always been colour film / digital means around during my lifetime I, personally, have always been a far more enthusiastic B'n'W snapper than a colour-man. Although I've been shooting with digital M cameras for quite a while I've only recently (this year) acquired a Monochrom but with the colour-capable cameras probably 95%+ of my printed output has been monochrome. I sort-of 'visualise' in shades of grey when out taking pictures. Snapshots aside I'm just not really that keen on colour photography I suppose. I'm talking purely about my personal work here, of course. None of my clients would be happy if I were to give them black and white images! So my interest was probably piqued by a certain amount of surprise that either so many Monochrom users felt the need for a colour body or so few were absolutely content to shoot in B'n'W only. Instead, it has everything to do with asking and getting others to think and talk about "shooting with intent" and whether they'd be happy shooting B&W only on digital or if they'd miss colour... Absolutely. So how do you 'see' in terms of your own personal snaps (and the b'n'w ones you have already posted in the M240 section are superb)? As a separate question - professional duties aside - could you envisage only being able to produce monochrome imagery for your personal work(*)? Philip. EDIT : For 'Personal Work' I don't include happy-snap treasures. Edited October 22, 2020 by pippy
shlomo the not so wise Posted October 23, 2020 Share #45 Posted October 23, 2020 Yes. I have an M10M and an SL2 with an M-adapter. I mostly use the M10M, but there are pictures you cannot take with it - whenever the picture is all about the colours. So if I had to choose, I would keep the M10M, and I would be satisfied, but it is definitely better to have both. Welcome, dear visitor!
