Hi,

Has anyone coded Distagon 35mm? I don't have this lens /yet), so I can't check if there is a screw or something else that prevents coding?

Regards,

Arto

If you do manage to replicate a Leica code, you know that it will show the Leica lens you have faked in the metadata that cannot be removed.

Thanks for your inquiry.
With the Distagon T* 1,4/35 ZM, we recommend to use one of the manual lens profile settings:
28 f/2 ASPH. 11604
or
28 f/2.8 ASPH. 11606

Please do your own tests to find out the best setting for your applications.
We do not recommend to try any self-coding (6bit coding) on the lens.

For further details, please do not hesitate to contact us!

With Best regards

I asked this question of ZEISS and received this response.

I use the 28/2 because I don't have any 28/2s, so I know to translate any 28/2 metadata to effectively be the ZM 35/1.4.

I don't use any code on mine, there's no need. The images need no correction.

If what you want is exif data, you're better served by Exiftool

I don´t care about efix data, but I'm afraid the camera is using the wrong code, possibly the code of the last uncoded lens used. My fear is from the time I shot with M9 and I had couple of uncoded lenses among the coded ones. Today my only uncoded lens I use with M10 is Apo Telyt-R 180mm. It doesn't need any correction so I don't have to worry it if Distagon doesn't need correction either! Thanks for the helpful information!
