cba20k Posted August 30, 2020 Share #1 Posted August 30, 2020 Advertisement (gone after registration) Wondering if anyone has done teardowns of the three cameras. Of course each has their own unique features and ergonomics, but they seem to all share many many similarities. If so it would certainly lend credence to the Typ 113's long term viability. Advertisement Posted August 30, 2020 Posted August 30, 2020 Hi cba20k, Take a look here Are the CL and TL2 basically Typ 113's?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
FrozenInTime Posted August 31, 2020 Share #2 Posted August 31, 2020 Zero correlation !
wda Posted August 31, 2020 Share #3 Posted August 31, 2020 I doubt it apart from lens names.
jaapv Posted August 31, 2020 Share #4 Posted August 31, 2020 Well, the sensors are Sony, but after that most similarities end. The filter stack of the 113 could be tuned to the lens and vice-versa, whereas the CL and TL2 have sensors that must be able to accommodate all lenses that the user may mount, including M wide-angles. The rest of the electronics may well share some common parts, mostly off-the-shelf, but all three are different designs. Not even mentioning the different body styles and user interfaces. cba20k Posted September 3, 2020 Author Share #5 Posted September 3, 2020 True re: the body styles and interfaces, which is one of the things I love about Leica, there's something for everyone. This was purely abstract curiosity on my part with regards to the guts of the cameras more so than the firmware or ergonomics. Not throwing shade on anything as I love all three iterations I mentioned.
