I recently bought an excellent Leica SL. I've spent a lot of time with the manual and getting the camera set up. I do have aa problem, however.

When looking through the viewfinder, the video time status in the lower right corner will not go away. The manual shows the number of still shots left. That is what I want to see. I don't shoot video.

How do I change the information. in the lower right corner from video time to number of shots?

Yes. That is the problem. In the menu I even turned video off ´even though it continues to operate if I accidentally push the video button.

Here is what I tried.  Reference: Leica SL Instructions page 205: Menu>Setup>Customize Control>Mode Lock>On/Off. I tried it with both on and off. Video button still actuates. Help!

Hi, sorry you still seem to be having problems.  A read through this thread should help sort things out:

Have you tried reset then to see if it clears the problem?

Lenspeeper, I'm not an SL user, but given the post shown by Boojay is several years old, one question is whether your problematic SL has the latest version of the firmware.

I contacted Miami Leica Store who sold me the camera (aka Red Dot forum). They went through the same exercise and found that their SL"s had the same problem. They are contacting Wetzlar because they think there is a software problem that needs correcting. that being said, I'll drop the matter for now awaiting their response.🙂

I found a solution. Export your settings to a clean memory card. Reset camera to factory or default settings. Open menu to customize button and turn off video button. Import your settings from the card into your camera. The video button will now be non-functional.
