lenspeeper Posted August 20, 2020 Share #1  Posted August 20, 2020 Advertisement (gone after registration) I recently bought an excellent Leica SL. I've spent a lot of time with the manual and getting the camera set up. I do have aa problem, however. When looking through the viewfinder, the video time status in the lower right corner will not go away. The manual shows the number of still shots left. That is what I want to see. I don't shoot video. How do I change the information. in the lower right corner from video time to number of shots?  Welcome, dear visitor! Boojay Posted August 20, 2020 Share #2  Posted August 20, 2020 The above shows the camera is in video mode, therefore showing time status, does it stay that way when in photo mode, it should changeover to number of shots then.
lenspeeper Posted August 20, 2020 Author Share #3  Posted August 20, 2020 (edited) Yes. That is the problem. In the menu I even turned video off ´even though it continues to operate if I accidentally push the video button. Here is what I tried.  Reference: Leica SL Instructions page 205: Menu>Setup>Customize Control>Mode Lock>On/Off. I tried it with both on and off. Video button still actuates. Help! lenspeeper Posted August 22, 2020 Author Share #9  Posted August 22, 2020 I contacted Miami Leica Store who sold me the camera (aka Red Dot forum). They went through the same exercise and found that their SL"s had the same problem. They are contacting Wetzlar because they think there is a software problem that needs correcting. that being said, I'll drop the matter for now awaiting their response.🙂
lenspeeper Posted September 1, 2020 Author Share #10 Â Posted September 1, 2020 I found a solution. Export your settings to a clean memory card. Reset camera to factory or default settings. Open menu to customize button and turn off video button. Import your settings from the card into your camera. The video button will now be non-functional. 1
