Appropriate amount of Shutter Dial Wiggle/Sound?

I recently put my shutter into B mode as I was putting it away for the day. This is a new camera to me so I hadn't used it before. The camera itself was in great condition and hardly used when purchased. 

The next day, the dial was quite tight and now when I move it, it both wiggles and makes a much sharper clicking sound.

Any insights on whether this is still an acceptable amount? If it sounds abnormal then I'd rather get the sound checked out.

That looks like it needs service.  Mine does not do that.

My instinct would be to see if the screw needs tightening before planning for a service.
