It will probably darken the corners more and more the wider you zoom. Why not take some pictures and see for yourself, it will be noticeable even on the back lcd

I used my 70-200 at a comic con type convention indoors and somebody said I looked stupid using a hood indoors but I can't even estimate the number of people that bumped into my lens when walking through big crowds. For me I use it pretty much just as protection

I have to ask if you have several accounts here because I was browsing through this forum and found a question posted by user glogulus with the exact same title and the exact same question? 

Only difference is that glogulus managed to answer the question theirself...
