theruleofthirds Posted August 3, 2020 Share #1  Posted August 3, 2020 Advertisement (gone after registration) I have had extremely good luck with Sigma lenses in the past and preordered the L mount 30mm 1.4 as soon as I heard about it. This isn't a review, but I thought I'd post some images in case anyone is interested in this lens. The autofocus is silent and snappy, its mages are sharp, and colors are as you would expect. It works well on the SL in crop mode, too.  The Leica T is such a fun camera to use with the Visoflex and this lens attached. In non-COVID times this camera is always in my bag and I shoot a lot of random live music, so the speed of this was a selling point for me.  For scale, it's pictured next to a 7Artisans 50mm f/1.1 and a Canon FD 50mm 1.8 with an M mount adapter attached. It's not tiny, but it is relatively small and very light.        Welcome, dear visitor! FrozenInTime Posted August 3, 2020 Share #2  Posted August 3, 2020 I'm very happy to see these lenses matching up well with the T and TL , functioning without any firmware updates.
oldwino Posted August 3, 2020 Share #3  Posted August 3, 2020 I like mine as well, on the CL. Balances nicely - it weighs less than it looks. Focus is fast enough. My only quibble would be the CA @ f1.4, but honestly for the price, this is a very minor quibble. It is about the same as the much (much!) more expensive Leica Summilux 35-TL. Easily corrected.
pilu Posted August 3, 2020 Share #4 Â Posted August 3, 2020 Ciao a tutti. Sono molto interessato a questo obiettivo ma non riesco a trovarlo con l'attacco a L, puoi darmi qualche consiglio su dove trovarlo? Ti ringrazio per le possibili informazioni
g2van Posted August 3, 2020 Share #5  Posted August 3, 2020 I just got my copy too, it's really great so far. It's about twice as long as the Leica 23/2 but balances very well on my TL.

Ti ringrazio per le possibili informazioni Ciao Pilu, I used a translator to read your message and I believe you are asking where to buy the lens. Â I bought mine from Adorama. Â They are a large store, so I would think they ship to Italy. Â Here is the link: Â Ciao Pilu, ho usato un traduttore per leggere il tuo messaggio e credo che tu stia chiedendo dove acquistare l'obiettivo. Â Ho comprato il mio da Adorama. Rob7P Posted November 20, 2020 Share #10 Â Posted November 20, 2020 Anyone have found a comparison with the Summilux 35?

So for the price is a bargain?

huwm Posted November 21, 2020 Share #14 Â Posted November 21, 2020 have traded in my TL for the Sigma and a Lumix 24-105mm, no regrets yet
Marac Posted November 21, 2020 Share #15 Â Posted November 21, 2020 I gave my Wife my CL with the 3 Sigma lenses 16/30/56 of the 3, she has used the 30mm the most and loves it. All 3 lenses are very good indeed and the render is very similar to the Carl Zeiss Contax lenses. From a personal view, I owned the Summilux 35 TL it was my favourite TL lens. When I sold it and bought the lighter Sigma lenses (got all 3 with change) I was extremely impressed with the Sigma lenses. No regrets. Another great lens is the 14-24 Sigma (21-35 eq on CL). SUPERB! Porchpockler Posted November 21, 2020 Share #16 Â Posted November 21, 2020 I bought a TL2 recently (for 900...which still feels like a steal...love the rendering of both DNG files, but also jpegs) and picked up the Sigma 30 and 56mm. Â I haven't owned any TL lenses...but I can say the Sigmas are really incredible performers and the bang for the buck feels very un-leica-like. Â I was curious whether anyone has directly compared the Sigmas and Leicas. Â I had been tinkering with picking up a 23mm f2, but if IQ doesn't really exceed the Sigmas, I'd find it hard to justify. Â Thoughts?
