docdave Posted July 27, 2020 Share #1  Posted July 27, 2020 Advertisement (gone after registration) I just ordered one from POPFLASH PHOTO in California. Their web site lists them as currently in stock. I rented this lens to use with my SL2 a few months ago. Needless to say it was an incredible performer and I decided that it is a "must own" for the SL2.  It has been out of stock everywhere for months. Nice to see it finally coming in. dave
Advertisement Posted July 27, 2020 Posted July 27, 2020 Hi docdave, Take a look here 35mm 2.0 APO availability. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Jared Posted July 27, 2020 Share #2  Posted July 27, 2020 Optically, it is the best lens I have ever owned.  And I have had the likes of the M 50 APO, a truly stunning 135mm Hasselblad, a 180 mm APO Telly R, a 21mm Super Elmer M and a host of others. As you know from having rented it, it’s ridiculously big for an f/2 35mm, but the degrees of freedom gained by the optical designer with the size allowed for a really special lens. It is essentially perfect for its focal length and aperture.
docdave Posted July 27, 2020 Author Share #3 Â Posted July 27, 2020 I agree. And the size is not that outrageous. It is a half pound lighter than the exquisite panasonic 50 1.4 S Pro lens. Â dave

osroubek Posted July 27, 2020 Share #5 Â Posted July 27, 2020 Do you find the 35 mm a little long for most landscape type work, or is it better to just stitch a few shots together since the quality is so good.?
docdave Posted July 28, 2020 Author Share #6  Posted July 28, 2020 I am supposed to receive it tomorrow. Later in August we are going to the north rim of the grand canyon. I plan to just use the 35 and see the results. When I rented the lens I never did any ambitious landscape shots. Everything was on lockdown during that time.  dave

Guest Posted August 6, 2020 Share #9  Posted August 6, 2020 I just ordered one today from BH Photo and it’s supposed to arrive Friday - it has been shown as being back-ordered for weeks, hope they didn’t make a mistake in confirming my purchase. Fingers crossed.
