Ivar B Posted July 12, 2020 Share #1 Posted July 12, 2020 Advertisement (gone after registration) I like to photograph birds now and then, but I don’t do this enough to warrant first rate fast lenses. I bought a used Canon 5.6/400 L and paid about 800$ and use it on a Panasonic S1R with the Sigma mount converter. It is a very capable lens and autofocus works quite well, but only S mode. The IBIS seems to work well also. Welcome, dear visitor! As registered member you'd see an image here… Simply register for free here – We are always happy to welcome new members! Advertisement Posted July 12, 2020 Posted July 12, 2020 Hi Ivar B, Take a look here Canon 5.6/400 L on Panasonic S1R. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
tom.w.bn Posted July 12, 2020 Share #2 Posted July 12, 2020 If you don't need AF-C then the Pansonics are really good cameras for the Canon lenses. I bought the 70-200 f4 non IS because of the weight advantage and have it nicely stabilized with the camera.
Marac Posted July 15, 2020 Share #3 Posted July 15, 2020 Looks to be doing a good job there. I do not have the pull for birding but I do enjoy going to the Zoo and use my Leica 80-200 f4 ROM on the S1R. It stabilises very well but I do find myself wanting a little bit more pull at times. My attention for long zoom is now focused (pun intended) on the Sigma 100-400 C lens. I am waiting for Sigma to send me one for a play, can't wait.
