So now you are buying two new lenses, not one? I'd slow down with this and think about what you want, not what everyone else says you want. 

My thought is that you only want one lens that requires an external finder (i.e. wider than 28 mm). Many people, myself included, find external finders fiddly and a bit of a pain to work with. You don't want to be carrying around a stack of those things. As far as 28mm goes, whilst I don't mind the focal length in general, I didn't particularly get on with it on a Leica. It's a little awkward as you have to look around the finder to use it, rather than through the finder as you would a 35, or 50 mm lens. An 0.58 magnification viewfinder or a live view camera, probably gets around this issue if that's an avenue open to you?

For what it's worth, I have a 24 mm. I bought this after selling a 28 mm. The 28 mm is more convenient to use and the 24 mm is used less often. However, for me, 24 mm is better for things like landscape and architecture than is the 28 mm was. Lots of other people find the opposite though. No one can really answer this for you.

24 pairs well with 35.  Mine is 3.8 and is wonderful.
