JTLeica Posted July 11, 2020 Share #1 Posted July 11, 2020 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi chaps, Long time since I have been posting here but I think I am back to being a 'serious' Leica shooter again with the Q2. I had an M10 that this week I have sold, along with a lot of M lenses. I am looking for some reassurance in terms of the Q's lens coating and toughness... I rarely clean front elements and stopped obsessing about dust many years ago, but when I saw the used Q2 I picked up recently I saw it had some tiny marks that I could only seen under flashlight (yeah bad idea I know)... I cleaned these off with blower, brush, lenspen and its looks fine and the marks are gone. There are tiny specs you can see under light but I assume this is just inevitable with the torch test... And I know if I keep cleaning these specs off I will just leave other spec... So, the short version, I assume the coating on the Q is at least as good as other Leica lenses? Thanks in advance
