Gobert Posted July 7, 2020 Share #1 Posted July 7, 2020 Advertisement (gone after registration) Is there is possibility to block the menu? Too many times I push a button without realizing It and then something is changed again.
Advertisement Posted July 7, 2020 Posted July 7, 2020 Hi Gobert, Take a look here D Lux 7 - how to block the menu?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
L.Richard Posted August 5, 2020 Share #2 Posted August 5, 2020 I occasionally have the same problem.
L.Richard Posted August 6, 2020 Share #3 Posted August 6, 2020 The menu can be blocked manually: Just keep the thumb on the rubberized Thumb-Rest above the Q-Menu and Playback buttons, then the fingers can't reach any of the buttons which can affect the menu (I think). Gobert Posted August 6, 2020 Author Share #4 Posted August 6, 2020 Thanks, but that is not a block, or a lock. That is a holding position. And, I have large hands..... so it doesn’t work for me.
MauriceWeststrate Posted August 26, 2020 Share #5 Posted August 26, 2020 Hello, I had the same issue (touching the touch screen), I also don't like the touchscreen at all, sow I have found a way to block it (you will use 1 button for that setting though). But your from holland? Then I will explain it in dutch for you if it is allright? Cioa
jaapv Posted August 27, 2020 Share #6 Posted August 27, 2020 Better stick to English. Other members might be interested as well and this is an international forum, after all.

ettoresf Posted December 10, 2020 Share #8 Posted December 10, 2020 Hello Gobert, I too have problems with the touch screen, and my fingers aren't even that big! Biggest trouble is from the auto focus target moving around. Maybe my nose hits the touch screen when I look through the EVF? At any rate, I sifted through the 294 page!!! user manual and learned a few things. (Come on, Leica! How about a D-lux 8 with a small fraction of the features?!). I've attached a couple of screen grabs from the manual that I hope will lead the way to controlling the touch functions. I hadn't realized how the functions change when you touch a button multiple times. But to turn it off altogether, look on page 185 of the manual (or the 3rd image attached here). Gobert Posted December 10, 2020 Author Share #9 Posted December 10, 2020 My wish is to block the whole menu. For short distance I need glasses. When I am driving motorcycle, I am wearing contact lenses for longer distance. But with those I cannot read the menu of the camera. Thus when I accidently push the wrong button, I cannot correct it. ettoresf Posted December 10, 2020 Share #10 Posted December 10, 2020 Just follow the sequence above, and you can turn off ALL touch settings. MENU > Custom > Operation > Touch Settings > Touch Screen. That's a ridiculously deep menu, but it should get you what you need.

Thanks for reminding me of that setting - I had read about it when the camera was new but clean forgot about it and then found I was somehow inadvertently moving the focus point either to bottom left or top right every time I used the EVF. Not any more! Edited December 10, 2020 by Keith (M)
