Shootist Posted August 14, 2007 Share #3 Â Posted August 14, 2007 Well that is the original price of it. Recently B&H raised the price to 4950. I have heard that this would happen when they ran out of older stock. Supposedly the price went up back in June or early July on NEW shipments. Â Jump on it while it last. I have also heard there will be another increase in October. Â See John if you hadn't done all that bitching back in December/January/Febuary and just gone out and bought one you could of been using it all this time. I bought my M8 from Amazon as they have the best, no questions asked, return policy and I'm glad I did as the first body was faulty with a vertical line at high ASA problem others have mentioned. I returned this body and Amazon sent the 2nd body. It was (and remains) perfect. Also Amazon paid for freiight both ways on the return and the replacement.  Stephen Goldblatt
rbaron Posted August 15, 2007 Share #6 Â Posted August 15, 2007 Stephen, I'm curious. Â Did either (or both) of your Amazonian M8s show they were officially imported by Leica US? (I'm assuming you bought from the US Amazon.) Â I didn't know Amazon is an officially licensed Leica dealer and am also curious if you were able to register for the Leica warranty and get the two free filters. Â Thanks, Â --Bob
