I'm having a small urge to try this out with an adapter, probably from Novaflex.  So a couple of questions:

1). Is this a good idea to begin with or should I just forget it and move along?

2). I've used Novaflex adapters before and found them to be first class.  Is there any substantive reason, other than having access to the lens profiles or putting information into the exif, to purchase the significantly more expensive Leica adapter?

3). Regarding the R lens cams, is one cam version more desirable in this application than another?

The Leica M-R adaptor has a detachable tripod mount to take the weight off the M-mount if used with heavy lenses.

The R cams are irrelevant for this application.

Pete.
