vedivv Posted June 17, 2020 Share #1 Posted June 17, 2020 Advertisement (gone after registration) There is definitely benefit of not skipping the anti-aliasing filter on Q2. However, moire does show up ugly sometimes. I tried to apply moire removal in LR (dialed all the way), it it provides little effect. In the image below, moire pattern is very ugly, both in pattern and color, for the planks in the back. Any suggestions on how to remove them post? Also, I wonder if we can buy optical low pass filter to put in front of the lens, although I am probably too lazy to use it. Welcome, dear visitor! HighlandLeica Posted June 17, 2020 Share #2 Posted June 17, 2020 Given the size of the area, it’s pretty minor and not conspicuous in my view. Beautiful image. You could use the Adjustment Brush in LR to gently desaturate the offending area to perhaps tone down the effect.

The moire shows up even in BW. @Ken: yeah, I am talking about that part. Tried PS and LR, neither removed moire cleanly. Might try to cover the lens with stocking as LPF next time... milescrist Posted June 28, 2020 Share #5 Posted June 28, 2020 Try capture one, it is much superior to Lightroom. Perhaps not the moire, but those ‘worms’ on the horizon line in the sky are Lightroom’s fault.
