Hi

I am using Godox Lighting for my home studio hobby with Sony A9 (mounted with M Lenses or Zeiss for Contax). However, I like the IQ and rendering of SL/M10 more.

Are there any friend here using off-camera flash system with your SL? What system do you use?

Since I don't use TTL anyway, maybe I will just use Godox in manual mode with my SL then.

Thought please... thank you very much.

For studio-like photography, I have a Profoto B2 system. The non-TTL Air Remote transmitter works fine with the SL and M10. For street photography, I use a LightPix Labs flash. It's nice because it can be mounted on camera like a typical flash, but the transmitter separates from the body for handheld use. The transmitter (fits in the hot shoe) is very tiny. I've also used the LightPix radio system to trigger the B2's when I forgot the Profoto transmitter.

Thanks. I will check it out :)

I use the Godox X-Pro together with AD200 (x2) and V850ii. Cheap, effective and reliable.

I have Godox X1T for Sony... Can I just use it? I have AD200 too.. very quick setup.

I don't see why not - the SL is just acting as a dumb trigger to the Godox or any other (non-Leica) trigger. It's possible the Sony pins on the X1T might confuse the Leica hotshoe. I've heard that both Nikon and Canon version XPro work (I have the Canon version), but I haven't heard about the Sony version. I suggest you try it!

hi, anyone use studio flash ELINCHROME ? which air remote non TTL ?

Yes, for years with no problems. Using only the hot shoe for manual triggering, no TTL.. you only need the simpler and cheaper skyport transmitter plus

The X1T triggers all can be put into ‘single pin’ mode. Just google this mode. It works with all Leica cameras (manual only, of course).

I think buying into Godox lights and trigger to use with Leica cameras are fine with off camera flashes relying only on manual mode as AD200 to AD600 are popular and good performance at decent price.

On the other hand, I cannot see the logic to buy Profoto A1s and B10s for Leica camera usage although they offer the best solution to all except for Leica users. Too bad that I prefer Leica glass over Profoto lights unless I sacrifice over SL2 instead use the S1R body to use Profoto lights.

I’m using Profoto lights and a Fujifilm TTL trigger, which I have already had, because of the GFX system, before switching to Leica.
It works fine on manual mode.
Nevertheless, it’s odd that Leica and Profoto cannot manage to get a Leica geared trigger out there.

+1 for Elinchrom. I've used one of their units for about ten years, and it just keeps working. I squirreled away a spare flashtube, just in case, but haven't needed to use it. Two lightly-used examples of the same unit recently came on to the used market, and I snapped them up. No TTL or remote flash settings, but very durable with consistent color. Use PocketWizard poppers.
