When I used to spend long hours in the darkroom - I am frankly more comfortable sitting in front of my computer thanks to my digital Leica - I went to my elected shop to buy a Leitz (of course) easel. It happened that they did not have one in stock, and they proposed a (much cheaper) japanese product "that would perform exactly the same job". Since I needed it immediately, I bought it...and never changed it. It is only when I started collecting that I added - and never used - a METOO and a MKHOO to my "things"! And I just found back my old and faithful LPL 18x24 easel made in Japan, still with its original box.

Leitz METOO ?

What is is it? An easel? I don't find it in the Wiki list of code names . . .

This company was certainly ahead of its time.

You should check reliable LEITZ sources, M.Hilo, like Dennis Laney's Leica Collector's Guide (2d edition) for example (pages 502-509-510).
