So a few years back a few photographers found that you can screw on the Ricoh GW-3 wide angle lens converter (originally made for the Ricoh GR) onto the Leica Q to obtain a 21mm field of view. When shot at a relatively small aperture of F8-F11, the results are reasonable.

A thread on the GW-3 to Leica Q experiment can be found in the German forum here: https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=2ahUKEwiDn8mh1uTpAhUKfd4KHWqTBgsQFjAAegQIARAB&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.l-camera-forum.com%2Ftopic%2F269202-leica-q-21-mm-rico-gw3%2F&usg=AOvVaw3d6A_4pPHiIEPkEjTZgi46

Now that Ricoh has released the GW-4, which appears to be a very significant improvement over its predecessor, I was wondering if anyone has tried this out? Would be very interested in regards to sharpness at wider apertures, and ability to handle flare.

Regards

Bump?

Anyway, I haven't used that particular one.  I do have the Century .55 W/A adapter left over from my 16mm  & 35mm motion picture days.   It's a 58mm thread so I step down to 49mm.  Works pretty good (math works out to a 15.4mm) -  but I never use it, preferring instead the 28mm focal length.  I tried it once for giggles and it's just too wide for me.   If I was wanting a wider angle of view than 28mm I would opt for 17mm.  To each his own though.

Sounds interesting. Could you share with us photos? Would be good to check out the level of sharpness particularly at 1.7.
