They are all interlinked. Veiling flare affects all.

Phototrope, - I use one Elmarit-M 21mm asph. for decades and never need to "upgrade" (to one the "best" like the SEM 😇 ). - as I like different lenses, I have over years other 20/21mm lenses

Think about this. Lower contrast is a physical phenomenon and can be explained in technical terms. It does NOT equate to greater tonal graduation. What happens is that the deep shadows are contaminate
