Hi Everyone,

I'm considering getting an Elpro type 3 to attach to my R Mount 135mm f2.8 II, but I cannot find documentation on what it changes the close focusing distance to. Might anyone be able to point me to a table on the internets where that info is shared?

Thanks in advance for any help!

Brian Bower gives some information in his book Leica Reflex Photography. There is a table on page 74 of the "New" Edition (the one with details of the R8 in). For the Elmarit R 135/2.8, from serial number 272619 (E55) he gives:

Elpro  3 (16543) infinity indicated focus goes to 76cm film to subject distance,  61cm lens to subject distance, object field 107x160mm,   ratio 1:4.5

1.5m indicated focus goes to 58cm film to subject distance, 42cm lens to subject distance, object field 66mmx99mm, ratio 1:2.8

You can also use the less powerful Elpro 4, giving ratios of 1:9.9 (infinity) and 1:4.4 (1.5).

Footnote adds "all values rounded off".

Thank you both for your help! I had found the wiki on this site and it was fantastic but I was having trouble figuring out how to equate the figures for the Elpro to minimum focusing distance. I'm not known for my math skills :)
