peterm1_Leica Posted May 5, 2020 Share #2 Posted May 5, 2020 I keep this little fellow inside the entry portico to welcome those arriving at my home. The image was out of an M8 but as an art experiment I ran it through some software "Corel Painter". The statue itself started out as another kind of art experiment. I bought it cheaply - it was an inexpensive and uninteresting grey cement fibre statue about 60cm tall. I wanted to see if I could polychrome it using various paint and texture techniques to add patina and interest. The effect I was going for was that of an aged statue that looked as if it had been sitting in a Buddhist temple for hundreds of years. That effect is a little difficult to envisage with the Corel Painter effects over the photo but I did achieve much of what I wanted. Welcome, dear visitor!
