Leica SL with vintage lens issues

Hi All,

I've acquired an old Nikkor lens (AiS) and I'm having setting/coordination issues with the SL. I'm using a novoflex adapter (no issues with a more modern Nikon lens) but I haven't used it with an older lens previously. The image through the viewfinder (or live view) keeps flashing on/off and it won't let me take photos. The camera is set in manual mode and MF. There must be a setting that I'm not aware of. Please advise. Thanks

Which Novoflex adapter are you using? If you use the one with electronic contacts SL-NIK you might run into trouble if you use a manual AI(S) or F lens. I would use this lens with a simple passive adapter, like : https://www.amazon.com/Fotasy-Mirrorless-Digital-Camera-Adapter/dp/B0113O93OA

Tape over the electronic communication in the body. Use thin tape like scotch tape or labeling tape. This has worked for me on both the Nikon E and Canon adapters.
