Jodad Posted April 18, 2020 Share #1 Posted April 18, 2020 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi All, Anyone tried the Leica Anglefinder M? https://en.leica-camera.com/Photography/Leica-M/Technical-Equipment/Viewfinder-Accessories/Angle-viewfinder-M If so, how is it? thinking of it for general use... I saw the EVF in use and that seemed like it could have been super useful however I'm on Film not Digital.
Advertisement Posted April 18, 2020 Posted April 18, 2020 Hi Jodad, Take a look here Leica Anglefinder M. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
a.noctilux Posted April 18, 2020 Share #2 Posted April 18, 2020 (edited) Hello Jodad, I used one for a while, but not so often now, the EVF is much more comfortable in use with last generation digital M. I even used for framing from 30cm from ground level with my M9, Monochrom for years. Revolving it can be done for vertical framing. The good thing is never have the lag of EVF 😉. Once, Leica used to sell as a part of kit with Macro-Elmar-M 90mm plus Macro-adapter-M. Edited April 18, 2020 by a.noctilux
Jodad Posted April 18, 2020 Author Share #3 Posted April 18, 2020 Thanks a noctilux, i just looked that set up, seems its still sold like that some places. I just found a blog post where the person mentions that it vignettes the 50. He uses it for that TLF approach which is what i wanted it for. I suppose it would do it even more to a 35 which is quite disappointing...
a.noctilux Posted April 18, 2020 Share #4 Posted April 18, 2020 You are right vignetting for 50 frames. With a bit of moving the eye around the eyepiece, I can see the framing for 50mm, I've just tried minutes ago to figure it out. I understand why I used this anglefinder with 90mm mainly. Not a device that I'd vote for ...😔
