I took a few pictures outdoors with the camera in a position in which FOTOS was the only way to compose, focus and shoot the picture.  Results are shown in the SL2 image thread.  I was using Fotos 2.0.5, the Android version which appeared a few weeks ago.

Some good, some bad changes.  The good one is that while it still sets my SL2 into P mode on entry, on exit, it restores the settings to what they were before I connected. Also, a GPS location indication appears in the EXIF once I was connected over WiFi.  I can't tell if this came across over BlueTooth in the low power mode or only happened once the WiFi kicked in.

The bad new behavior is sort of silly.  I set the camera into f/2.0 and f/4.0 as indicated on the remote screen of the phone.  On the camera it shows as f/2.1 and f/4.1, and the EXIF reflects those settings.  Since you can't put the camera into those values with its own controls, I think this is just a software bug.

I checked today to see if the problem when Fotos refuses to connected to an SL2 if both slots have chips installed has gone away.  I don't recall exactly how things worked with the SL or the SL2 in earlier releases, but in the Android 2.0.6 release that is now published, it can connect without difficulty to the camera when there are two chips installed.  It can read the files on chip#1, but it wasn't able to shift over to remote mode. and that left both Fotos and camera hung.

Using Android 2.0.6 and two different phones, I now can't seem to connect with either phone and my workaround for getting unstuck (reset the camera to its startup program, after carefully saving profiles, then connect by finding the camera during the startup program) isn't working around any more.   Oh well, I am sure that new versions will appear as Germany starts to resume limited work activities...

Edit:  well, it took several cycles of starting with a clean slate and a few tries, but I now have both a Moto G9 and a HuaWei Pro Android phone talking to the SL2 over Fotos 2.0.6.  It still doesn't transfer the geolocation to the EXIF of a shot, but it does again serve as a remote shutter with live view.
