Answer to that is ....... Would you be happy with something less than your actual M8 image quality and handling?

I bought 4 months later a second M8 and use both..... sometimes when I do not have time to change lens with fast moving situations.

Ed,

Expected you to say something like that!

A second M8. But if I'm going somewhere, driving there, specifically for photography then I will take both M8's with all lenses and a Nikon D200 with a few lenses.

Cindy, you have at least 2 film and 1 digital backups. would your xti be your primary

b/u?

I have an M5, M6 and Canon XTi (use with Leica-R 35mm, 60mm macro, and 180mm and a couple of Canon AF lenses). I still enjoy shooting film, and the little XTi is handy for macro and wildlife.

Digital photography will still be more expensive than any other camera equipment with film because there will still be more and more new summits to be discovered! When a new film was introduced to the market we did not have to change cameras to use it! Hopefully we will learn to content ourselves with the present M8 and new software up-dates ...... and pray that the M9 does not arrive to soon! :) :) Happy trails to you......

My spending has stopped, well almost I have a lens at Solms for service.

I have 2 M8's and all focal lengths from 21 to 135 lenses. I don't see the need for my type of shooting for anything wider then 21mm, that is at this time.

I don't use the Xti unless I know I will be shooting wildlife or fast action. My most used backup now is the M6. I still enjoy scanning the negatives.

My camera bag contains the M8, M6 and usually 3 or 4 lenses.
