I got a Really Right Stuff Base Plate and use a quick detach ring with a Black Rapid sling strap. Works very well for me 🙂

I used this system hiking with the SL and 28-90. I learned about it from Gordon (FlashGordon). With the attachment point on the waistband of my backpack (and the camera strap loose over my shoulder) I had no extra weight on my neck. Made hiking long distances a breeze.

So I use a Peak Design strap for my SL and found out that their claim is true: the camera feels lighter indeed and even with an R 280/4.0 it’s a joy to have a hike with it.

Which PD strap?

Slide. They have them in two widths, the wider one is about an inch and is best for SL I think

Actually 3... Slide, Slide Lite and Leash... not including wrist straps.  The Slide is almost 2 inches wide (1.8”); not ideal for my tastes, although I’m sure it provides the most support.  I was hoping you were using the narrower Lite without issues. Only way for me to know is to try, but curious about others’ experiences.

Cross body, zooms -1 lug + bottom plate. SL 90, M lenses and Sigma 45 -2 lugs. Like PD Leash as it is very quick to adapt and adjust length.

I’ll give it a try on the SL2.  It will be interesting to see how everything orients and balances when using the bottom plate, as the attachment hole was moved to the left side to accommodate the IBIS internal mechanism that must be centered under the lens, where the SL’s socket hole is located. And also to see whether the body rests flat when placing it on a flat surface with the plate attached.  It will be a relatively inexpensive test when considering my recently purchased $200+ Harry Benz strap that sits unused. Stock straps have always sufficed for my Ms, so this is a bit of trial and error.

I am always be a fan of UpStap. I have one on every camera.

If you carry your camera on your shoulder this strap is perfect , the rubber does not slip..

Just received the Leash and hooked it up as you described, albeit with my SL2.  I had my doubts, but actually find this to be a better solution than using an OpTech strap, which I preferred over the stock strap.  I like the way it hangs, adjusts length, is easily reconfigured, and is very compact. And, despite the narrow width and lack of shoulder pad, it feels  comfortable; although the real test will be using it for an extensive period, especially with the zooms.  One side benefit is that this configuration prompted me to hold the camera differently than I was accustomed in vertical orientation, and my sunglasses now work with the EVF eye detect function, which didn't happen before.  So, all in all, a good find.  Thanks for the input.
