Hello!

I may be asking the obvious but is the Leica Fotos app that bad?

I was looking at this app to remotely set one particular option as the Self timer to 2/12sec but it seems unavailable in the app? Or is it a PRO feature?

Is there any alternative apps that would exist?

Thx.

Tom.

No, Leica doesn't make very many controls available under remote operation in Fotos.  For the L-Mount cameras and Qs it's shutter speed, aperture, ISO, and exposure offset, then in a pulldown, white balance, file format and metering.  There are a few more internal controls that can be set on the M10-D, including drive mode, which allows setting self-timer delay, but only for that model, in which there is no other way to set drive mode.  The PRO feature and 50 $ or EUR only lets you use video and has some LightRoom support, as far as I know.

In the case of my M10-D in conjunction with the FOTOS app 2.0.5/Iphone the following functions, though mentioned in the manual, are not available in the "free" app version

p55.  grid lines (with the Visoflex)

p56  serial exposure

p56. self timer

I do not remember whether these functions were available in earlier versions of the app, because on my several Iphones the app got updated automatically to the latest version. I find it strange that for basic functions which are content of the manual I now need to pay an annual fee for the pro version to operate a camera, which is not sold as a bargain.

Using Android 9,  Fotos 2.0.6 just now,:    The Drive settings menu is still there, with serial exposures, continuous shooting at two speeds, and both 2 and 12 sec self-timer.  (for an M10-D).  It has a weird tic when I use it on my Huawei Pro.  I connect (multiple tries required), then go to remote to see if that is working, then return to view the pictures ont he card, then click settings to see what drive mode includes.  On return I get a message "camera is disconnected,"  click OK, and return to view the pictures, since it is actually still connected.  I wouldn't mind seeing the grid lines that appear on the VF020, but what I really miss is the histogram.
