I'm trying to work out if I'm missing something, of if the setting is simply not there;

On the M10M Is there any way to have focus peaking active on the rear LCD without the magnification?

It seems I can turn off all focus assistants (no peaking, no mag) or I can turn all on... but I can't choose to have just the focus peaking without any magnification.

That’s the answer above.

Initially I only saw focus peaking when I zoomed in too.

The Instruction Manual didn’t help me directly, but accidentally I tried the control wheel which I had set for exposure comp. It seemed to auto switch over to focus peak zoom after I had pressed the front of camera focus button. At the press of the focus button, I experienced full zoom in on LV with focus peaking visible. I then moved the customized control wheel and zoomed back to to medium zoom and then full view and the focus peaking remained on and active. Users of a regular M have gone through this years ago, but I was last in an M9.

Yes, very handy being able to use the control wheel to move between no zoom, medium zoom & full zoom, all while having focus-peaking visible.

I need the control wheel for exposure compensation so that won’t help me.

As soon as you stop focussing (in LV) and half-touch the shutter release, the control wheel reverts to exposure comp adjustments.  Best of both worlds!

Thanks everyone, finally had a chance to try this.

With the custom dial setting set to exposure compensation, I can zoom out to the standard view and zoom back in at will. Once I exit the focus peaking (half press shutter button) the dial returns to exposure compensation mode. Perfect.
