Yes that’s true, I’ll keep the thread updated. I’ll stop by the store tomorrow

My recommendation, if possible, is to swing over to Leica USA in Allendale and they will correct any issues in 15 minutes. I recommend this since you purchased from Leica DC.

If there is an issue, Leica SOHO will have to send your camera to Allendale and it will get in the general queue, which may take a few weeks rather than minutes.

Call ahead before you go.

I do not have a vehicle to get to the NJ store. I have also heard very bad things about that location and how long items take to get returned. I’ll stop by the SOHO store first as it’s only 15 minutes from me and see what they have to say.

Allendale is great. They got a bad rep during the corroded sensor debacle because they couldn’t keep up with demand. For the past two years they have been fantastic.

unless you send your camera or lens to a local repair shop or DAG, the Leica stores will send your equipment to Allendale anyway.

hopefully it is just a misunderstanding of how to use the rangefinder and it’s all good.

I am hoping it’s just a misunderstanding too. I’ll keep everyone updated, I’ll be going to the SOHO store later today to see if they can confirm that I’m the problem and not the camera lol

Just to clarify, it’s not a Leica Store like SoHo, although they do ship new gear;  rather it’s the US Leica Service Center, where dealers and customers send product for company authorized repair, unless the issue requires shipment to Wetzlar, Germany. Many here also use respected third party repair services, including in the US.  DAG  (Don Goldberg) is one such alternative, well known for quick, reliable and reasonably priced repair. Some Leica dealers do have staff to resolve minor issues and, if not, either exchange items or ship to NJ or Wetzlar.

I understand that, I would rather go to the local shop before I trek over there. For all I know, there could be no issue.

I'll second that. Allendale has taken steps over the past two years, including staff changes, to improve service and turnaround time. They've gotten significantly better.

  • 2 weeks later...

As an aside, my M10M does not have alignment issues----but the diopters do help with middle-aged eyes.  I went with a -.5 which is the slightest adjustment (I wear contacts), but I feel it does help and make the M10M more enjoyable to use.  The diopters are expensive though!
