fahrenhyde Posted March 4, 2020 Share #1 Posted March 4, 2020 Advertisement (gone after registration) One of the reasons I like to shoot with the SL2 is that I can set it to photograph in 4:3 rather than 3:2. Now, when I import the files, Lightroom already does the crop automatically. But Capture One doesnt, which would interest me more. Does anyone know why or have a solution? Advertisement Posted March 4, 2020 Posted March 4, 2020 Hi fahrenhyde, Take a look here SL2 4:3 crop and LR/C1. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
verwackelt Posted March 5, 2020 Share #2 Posted March 5, 2020 My knowledge is that C1 is ignoring the cropsettings in the camera for RAW-files. RAWs are always imported as uncropped total files. If i have to crop i set it here: Welcome, dear visitor! As registered member you'd see an image here… Simply register for free here – We are always happy to welcome new members! It's also a problem to batch crop a whole series, because horizontal format is treated differently than landscape format.
verwackelt Posted March 5, 2020 Share #4 Posted March 5, 2020 Maybe there is a solution, but I never found it annoying because I don't like the 4:3 format so much and find the 3:2 more appealing. I would look at PhaseOne in the tutorial section. maybe there is a way?
MediaFotografie Posted March 6, 2020 Share #5 Posted March 6, 2020 Booth SLs (and I think other Leica‘s too) don‘t really crop- they only add meta information about aspect ratio to the DNG - which is a very good solution to speed up the workflow (Nikon on the other hand save croped RAWs, which are smaller). I think C1 doesn‘t handle these metadata - but I haven‘t experience with C1 (maybe there‘s a hidden setting?)

verwackelt Posted March 9, 2020 Share #7 Posted March 9, 2020 Advertisement (gone after registration) I asked my coworker about that. We all use C1 since 10 years but had never the need for crop in C1. Happens all later in PS. I suggest to write to PhaseOne. The support answers fast…

Well, different workflows everywhere:) I'll look into it with PhasOne.
