Hi SL (701) and L mount, SL2,  S1, S1R users

Thus question is for users of M lenses adapted to L mounts and ability to do macro photography.

Whilst there is the original Made in Portugal Leica M-TL adaptor which is very expensive but transmits exif data and lens info to the L mount camera, i am thinking of the flexibility of a reliable helicoid adaptor that allows focus to infinity and macro use.

When I used to own the Sony, Voigtlander and Fotodiox (cheaper) came out with macro adaptors with helicoid. i see a chinese manufacturer Haoge selling on Amazon as well. See https://www.amazon.com/dp/B081S4DYTH/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_tai_1eYxEb6ZVM66G

What is a reliable (performance) and affordable brand for the L mount?

Thanks!

There's a hawk's helicoid adapter I was looking at. Not cheap but does what you want it to do. I did use a voigtlander VM to Sony E mount helicoid adapter when I used Sony (only briefly). The closer focus (i.e. 70cm to 28cm) is novel and fun, but not something I used often for day to day shooting. When I got the SL I chose to stick with the Leica L to M one. Trusted adapter with EXIF data for all my lenses. If i need to do some closeup work I have novoflex extension tubes to do the trick.

This is probably just me, but when attaching expensive (and dear) lenses, i'd rather go with the adapter I trust the most. One side benefit to using the Leica one is that I use the menu to check whether the lens (or adapter) is mounted properly. My lens detection is set to auto, so the camera immediately identifies the lens (all my leica lenses are coded). If the adapter or the lens is not mounted properly, the camera won't recognise what lens is mounted, which indicates to me I should check.
