Jankap, thanks I assume since decade 😇 .

My ex Nokton 1.1/50 may have same "fussy details" as the OP uses EVF ( which in my M240 the EVF focussing is very "poor" with wider open lens, f/1.4 or less,

lack of resolutions in EVF, I think ).

I don't have any problems focussing it using the EVF, and I'm very picky! It simply won't focus beyond about 30-40 meters.

Today was the day for a simple DIY test at home as I was quite curious how well (or bad) the Nokton would perform when wide open. Both photos were taken with a M10 on a tripod at minimum focal distance (1m). First photo is focussed at f1.1 , second f2. The Liveview focus peaking indicated exactly the red/pink CE sign on the meterstick.

IMHO the results in real life are much better than in #1,  @ f/1.1 is too soft, the contrast is poor. Stopped down to f2 it looks much better. Remember, these photos are just home made shots so be gentle and nice and enjoy;)

OK, it wouldn't "peaking" beyond 30-40 meters OR it actually no-focus-at-all beyond 30-40 meters.  I kinda read you mean no peaking instead.  Anyway, was it only this lens has problem or all lenses?

If I ask you to forget the EVF and snap a picture at infinity (read from the lens) and see if far (infinity) subjects are in focus?

Can you also test if the focus patch aligned at infinity thru RF?

When fully open it will not focus beyond 30-40 meters with EVF, rangefinder, or lens barrel markings. It goes to infinity on the lens barrel without issue. When I close it down this issue goes away, and it performs normally. (I would choose my 50mm Summicron if I was aiming for f2 or below of course!).

A follow up. I had the lens serviced (lens dismantled, tightening of loose body screws) and it's working perfectly again.

Glad to hear it. Was it serviced by Voigtlander? Heavy fees or wait time? Asking as I've heard poor things about CV service despite the great lenses.

I had it serviced at a local service place here in Melbourne. They took several weeks, but the result was worth it and the cost was Aust$120.
