When I use my SL2 with studio flash and shoot with (for example) ISO 100, f11, 125th - the screen is dark and I can't really see what I am photographing, with dim lights.

Is there a setting to compensate this? I am new to EVF and mirrorless, so it might just be something I missed ..

Yes, on page three of the camera's menu system you will see a setting called "exposure preview".  Switch that from PASM to PAS.  Then, as long as your camera is in "manual" mode (which it typically would be with studio strobes), the viewfinder will show a bright image.

Fellow Members:

I am having the same problem as above, but also using the Leica wired remoted trigger release.  When I change my setting to PAS the viewfinder DOES remain bright, but for some reason the remote wired trigger DOES fire the shutter but FAILS to fire the remote sensor for the strobe (power pack).  This set up did work at some point, but now does not.

Cannot determine the problem!  ...Would appreciate any ideas. (??)

Many Thanks.

Well, to avoid this problem I think the preview is much better with continuous lights. They are now getting really affordable and it also avoids all the other limitations you have with flash on the SL and SL2. Energy usage is now also quite low. (No more need for high temperature halogen lights.)

Yes, it is maybe not the solution you have been looking for, but it gives you really a much much better experience.

Two years ago I thought the SL was very limited regarding flash usage. And also considered buying a S1R when it came out because of better flash functionality. But now the “flash problem” with Leica is solved for me (at least in the studio).

Strope trigger only need one middle pin to get signal to fire. all other pin are for TTL functionality .

Since Studio flash systems tipicly are set to a constant power to control the output TTL is useless anyway.
As reported before TTL on the SL2 is flowed anyway , I suppose in the Leica world Light is an afterthought .

I use canon triggers on the SL2. Specific the godox. X2Tc and the X1Rc with the sing cable on receiver . this is then connected to Profoto and Elichrom moonlights.

Works very well in studio.

I found you can cover some connectors on the camera with some clear tape and exposing the center one. that work for me in some cases with other triggers.
