MarkinVan Posted February 27, 2020 Share #1 Â Posted February 27, 2020 Advertisement (gone after registration) I have the SL2 now and am waiting for the RRS plate. Using the Peak DesignClutch at the moment and it's pretty good but doesn't look like it will work the the Really Right Stuff plate. Any suggestions for a hand strap to work off the the camera and plate strap loops?
Advertisement Posted February 27, 2020 Posted February 27, 2020 Hi MarkinVan, Take a look here SL2 hand strap with RRS plate. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
hoppyman Posted February 27, 2020 Share #2 Â Posted February 27, 2020 RRS now have images of the new SL2 plate and L module on their site and you can see the attachment points (and why the SL L module won't fit). On Leica's website you can see the handstrap option they sell (same as the one previously and for the S as well). I have one but have hardly used it as I am almost always using a tripod. Thanks, would you say the Leica hand strap works without the grip?
hoppyman Posted February 27, 2020 Share #4  Posted February 27, 2020 With it without, I really never got into the habit of using it (on the S). I just have the normal shoulder strap wrapped around my wrist if off tripod.  I am maybe different. I tend to just let the camera hang loosely from my finger tips hooked into  the built in grip where it balances naturally.. You can adjust the hand strap firmly enough so it’s pretty secure. For me that means it slower to get it off your hand. I think a lot depends on how you shoot and habit. Of course there are alternate strap systems, some with quick releases too. I haven’t seen the grip for the SL2 as yet.
LocalHero1953 Posted February 27, 2020 Share #5 Â Posted February 27, 2020 (edited) I use the Herringbone Heritage hand strap (Type I) with the SL and RRS SL baseplate - as do others here. They work well together. I don't see why a similar combo shouldn't work with the SL2 Edited February 27, 2020 by LocalHero1953
