Crossness Pumping Station Museum, Bazalgette Way, Abbey Wood, London SE2 9AQ is a cathedral of ornate Victorian ironworks housing the world's largest beam engines … a magnificent example of 19th C steam engineering. http://www.crossness.org.uk https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crossness_Pumping_Station https://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Attraction_Review-g186338-d6681084-Reviews-The_Crossness_Pumping_Station-London_England.html We can accommodate 6 additional Leica enthusiast guests for the Photo Shoot Guided Tour. Cost £25 each. The event is organised at cost price - all proceeds are donated to the Museum. Pre-booking is required through The Leica Society - you cannot turn up on the day without pre-booking. Tripods are welcome. Flat shoes obligatory and visitors are obliged to wear hard hats provided by Crossness Museum. Free on-site parking subject to pre-advising car registration. Please contact me via Leica Forum Message to reserve a place. Advisable to travel by car - it's a 1.5 mile walk / taxi journey from Abbey Wood railway station. We are likely to be the only group of visitors (maximum 25 of us) on 21 March ... it's not a public open day. Our guide will be an experienced Crossness volunteer. verwackelt Posted February 26, 2020 Share #2 Posted February 26, 2020 A beautiful piece of industrial art! Unfortunately a bit too far in the moment. But when visiting a friend in Peckham next year it will be on my visiting list. Perhaps then will be an opportunity to book a tour…

Graham (G4FUJ) Posted March 5, 2020 Share #8 Posted March 5, 2020 Sadly I can't make that date. Have an enjoyable visit!
adan Posted March 5, 2020 Share #9 Posted March 5, 2020 How many gallons of crossness could this station pump when operating? In case of a crossness drought, could it pump "grumpy" or "mildly irritated" instead?
farnz Posted March 5, 2020 Share #10 Posted March 5, 2020 And what is a measure of 'crossness'? A scowl? A filthy look? Cursing under the breath? Pete.

dkCambridgeshire Posted March 14, 2020 Author Share #12 Posted March 14, 2020 Unfortunately we've decided to cancel the proposed visit to Crossness due to the escalating Coronavirus risk. Thank you to TLF members who signed up to attend the Crossness guided tour photo shoot. We hope to rearrange the event at a later date. Best wishes dunk
