esynchronicity Posted February 24, 2020 Share #1  Posted February 24, 2020 Advertisement (gone after registration) I recently bought a new - well, what I thought was new - spare battery for my T. It’s the BP-DC13 pack with the black plate, which is Leica part 18773.  Having received it, I noticed the date stamped on the box was 2014-09-01. The battery itself was stamped 2014-05.  i was a little surprised at those dates since this was supposedly a new battery, but then I realized I didn’t have any way to even verify if it was new? I vaguely remember other Leica batteries having a protective (blue?) film covering the terminals, but can’t recall specifically.  Has anybody recently bought a new genuine battery for their T/TL/TL2 who can recall the like-new packaging? Am I making a big deal out of this? (I haven’t yet with the seller, but just received it two days ago) thanks! Eugene Welcome, dear visitor! esynchronicity Posted February 24, 2020 Author Share #3 Â Posted February 24, 2020 Ah, fair question. From that huge auction site. I do realize now that a dealer would have been the better choice!

What can I say" Â I'm not sure of the shelf life of these batteries, give it a charge and see how it goes..Myself, it's either bite the bullet and buy Leica or B&H for a Pany or 3rd party equivalent.. vankempf Posted February 24, 2020 Share #5  Posted February 24, 2020 The box looks like the box my battery came in. I bought my battery from the Leica store in London.
nicci78 Posted February 25, 2020 Share #6  Posted February 25, 2020 Either way it is an old battery. Maybe never used. At least sitting on the shelves for 5.5 years... But don’t worry. Unused battery are put into a state that protect them during long shelf time.
esynchronicity Posted February 25, 2020 Author Share #7  Posted February 25, 2020 Advertisement (gone after registration) Thanks all. I don't doubt that it's a genuine battery, it looks identical to the one that came with my T. Hopefully it was unused as well!
