Kent10D Posted August 9, 2007 Author Share #42 Posted August 9, 2007 Well Kent, it looks like a pretty mint(ish) copy you got yourself there. And at a reasonable price to boot. Enjoy!. And it looks even better when I wipe my fingerprints off it! Thanks for helping to "push me over the edge."
Eoin Posted August 9, 2007 Share #43 Posted August 9, 2007 Well self control was never one of my strong points,LOL My outlook on life is I'm here for a good time, not a long time. I'm glad you were decisive enough to jump quickly and if it didn't work out you'd possibly make a small profit on the re-sale.
carstenw Posted August 9, 2007 Share #44 Posted August 9, 2007 Now being a Lux freak one needs to look at this www.leicagoodies.com Look for the Steer, i have one on my 75 lux and it really helps with focusing. I have heard this advice repeatedly, and bought one a while ago, but to be honest I didn't like it at all. Apart from the fact that it is cheap plastic, not good plastic, and that the ends don't meet quite right, I also found it unattractive that it attaches to the lens via a relatively thick double-sided white tape, which sticks out a mile (the white colour, not the size). However, if it had worked nicely, I would have fogotten all that, but I found it just got in the way. I kinda like focusing the 75 Lux directly. Ken, if you want a Steer, you can have mine for the postage to ship it.

Kent10D Posted August 9, 2007 Author Share #48 Posted August 9, 2007 Guess I won't bother with the Steer then. Actually, I'm finding the lens to be quite comfy to focus as it is. And now that I've tweaked the rangefinder it focus quite accurately. Now if there was a magic add-on device that reduced the weight by half I'd be interested! jonoslack Posted August 9, 2007 Share #49 Posted August 9, 2007 Now if there was a magic add-on device that reduced the weight by half I'd be interested! LOL - it's called the 75 'cron! Glad you're pleased with your new lens, ad thanks everyone for the put off with the steer
Kent10D Posted August 9, 2007 Author Share #50 Posted August 9, 2007 LOL - it's called the 75 'cron!Glad you're pleased with your new lens, ad thanks everyone for the put off with the steer You mean I have to buy another lens?! Not ... until the next one. Anyway, yes, I am very pleased. And I have been waiting for an opportunity to thank everyone here, so I might as well do it now. If it wasn't for some not-so-subtle prodding by many of the forum members, I would almost certainly have let that 'lux slip through my fingers. In this case the forum has really come through for me in the form of erudite advice (delivered with a sledgehammer) that landed me a beautiful lens that I might never find under such fortuitous circumstances again. So thanks everyone!
guidomo Posted August 10, 2007 Share #51 Posted August 10, 2007 Well Kent, there's been a recent precedence where we pushed someone into a good Noctilux deal: http://www.l-camera-forum.com/leica-forum/leica-m8-forum/30009-noctilux-f1-0-located.html Think he was happy too.
