marco septantesix Posted February 20, 2020 Share #1  Posted February 20, 2020 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hello, Next week i will buy a cheap Leica SL to a friend (VERY friendly price). I won't be able to buy a M Lens or R lens (and the adapter) for a few weeks. I would like to be able to take pictures during these long weeks. I saw cheap adaptors (between 30$ and 140$) for old Nikon and canon lenses. I have a Nikon Nikkor ai 50mm f1.8, 28mm f2.8 ai, and a nice 35mm F2.5 serie e, and i have also a canon 50mm FD. Is anyone here used an adapter for Nikon or Canon old lenses ? focus peaking is working right ? Can you post samples ? (or a link to your pics with a (weird) combo like that ? do you have limitations ? Thank you for your advices. (and yes, i know, nothing is good on the SL like a L mount or M mount... but i don't have a money printer at home) (and sorry for my english, i am french  ). marco.

Daniel81 Posted February 20, 2020 Share #3  Posted February 20, 2020 hi Marco. I was in the same situation exactly - now I have an SL prime lens and use it a lot. but I got the novoflex Nikon F to L adaptor and I had several old Nikkor AiS lenses - the 50 AiS 1.2, the 28 2.8 that you have (interesting lens cause its not macro but you can get really close!) - and I also have a voigtlander 58 Nokt F mount . . . anyway - they were all great - I don't have any photos to link you to. The focus peaking works fine - although I did have an erratic issue that sometimes I would mount the adaptor and lens and focus peaking would not work and I think I had to turn everything off, take of and put back on the lens and finally got it to work - I never really figured out why that erratic problem arose. But mostly, it should be fine. Just do it and have fun! mpw Posted May 24, 2023 Share #8 Â Posted May 24, 2023 I just have the Leica CL. I am using the Nikon 50/f2 and Nikon 35/f2 with the Leica M -> L adapter and the K & F Concept adapter F -> M. The results are really nice. I just focus as I don't even need magnification just sometimes focus peeking. I will post some pictures on flickr soon. I am quite pleased with the results. The Yeshica ML 35 f/2.8 with a C/Y adapter works nice too. It is great to bring the new life to these old beauties.
