Good question. I was looking for a third party battery but could not find any information that this exists. For my Fujis I only had third party batterys. No difference to the original batteries (except the price).

The reason I asked that question is I don’t believe there were any.

My impression is there is - anything that can be replicated can by the Chinese

If it says Leica on it and it’s not a true Leica it’s a counterfeit and not a third party. I don’t believe they’ll dabble in anything for third party goods that there is not much of a market for.

My 240 was bought from a Leica UK store and who I have spoken to about the battery

In both ways - if I still get the problem, the warranty should still apply

Yes it should if still inside the warranty period. I have heard that some items are repaired gratis outside of the warranty period as well.

One other note: If the camera gets too warm it will shut down until it cools below a certain point. I had this happen a number of years ago and never again after that.
