John Z. Goriup Posted February 20, 2020 Share #1 Posted February 20, 2020 Advertisement (gone after registration) Don't mean to come across as maudlin & sentimental, but I've been doing a lot of housekeeping with all my digital photo files to organize them in more accessible order, and keep stumbling over a lot of obscure stuff I photographed but never did anything with. Nowadays, many of these images remind me that I didn't spend nearly enough time studying and more fully absorbing the subject, instead of only seeing them through the viewfinder. Not in this case - John Surtees was the honored guest at the Pebble Beach Concours a few years back, and brought his '64 worldchampionship-winning Ferrari 158 F-1 car and 500 cc MV Agusta motorcycle to display on the lawn. I was fortunate to have the opportunity to talk with him at length and study the machines in detail, with John generously supplying history & details I had never heard about these machines, both of which were gifted to him by the respective teams in gratitude for winning the titles.
