bayerische Posted August 8, 2007 Share #1 Posted August 8, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi, where would be a good place to buy an M8 in Florida, US? New or Used is no big deal to me. I have tried to Google, but found nothing. I'm going to be travelling to Florida shortly. Thanks in advance!

I'm going to be travelling to Florida shortly. Thanks in advance! Don't know of any places in Florida, but you could buy online, from an out of state seller, and save local sales tax. There are a number of Leica dealers with positive feedback from forum members. I can recommend Popflash and would call them in advance to discuss payment and shipping details. There customer service level is excellent, also after the buy, and the great thing is you can talk to the owner directly. Photovillage, B&H, Kurland are other well known dealers with whom my experiences are positive. Eventually, important will be that they have an M8 in stock. Enjoy Forida

Enjoy Forida Thanks, Yes I thought of buying from a place like B&H, but I would feel safer walking in to a store and getting my M8 or buying a good second hand one from a private seller. Since I'll be in Florida for aprox 3 weeks on holiday, I don't feel like hunting camera stores blind:)

hankg Posted August 8, 2007 Share #8 Posted August 8, 2007 If you are going to be in South Florida there really are no retail stores as in NY that stock Leica. Ken Hansen who stocks Leica and is a great guy and remembered for his excellent NY store spends part of the year in Florida but he no longer has a store, its order by phone only. Riccis Posted August 8, 2007 Share #11 Posted August 8, 2007 I highly recommend going to Dale's and talking to Dave... He has an M8 and a few lenses in his store for you to fondle. Cheers, Riccis
etrigan63 Posted August 8, 2007 Share #12 Posted August 8, 2007 I second Dale Labs. I will be purchasing my M8 from there.
enboe Posted August 8, 2007 Share #13 Posted August 8, 2007 I purchased a used M7 from Dale Labs via ebay. The camera had metering issues, and Dale Labs arranged for return, repair, and re-sending it to me, no hassle, no charge. They could have left me hanging as it was a used camera. DigiPro Posted August 9, 2007 Share #19 Posted August 9, 2007 If you're anywhere near Orlando, try Colonial Photo & Hobby. They are an authorized Leica dealer. I've purchased Leica equipment in store and the service/prices are good, sometimes cheaper than online (although you'll pay sales tax). 800-841-1485. You can find a list of dealers on Leica's website - Locate a Dealer. That's how I found them. I wanted to play with the camera before I purchased it. Enjoy your trip to Florida. Hurricane season is June 1 - October 31. You should be fine at the end of October, but don't quote me on that! Kimberly
