If I am understanding all the above information correctly, the problems that arise with the Q2 electronic shutter happen under lighting coming from (1.) LED, (2.) CFL (the compact "pigtail" type fluorescent bulbs) and (3.) the long fluorescent tube type bulbs - is that accurate?

If so, being mindful of any man made lighting present in the scene or on the subject you are photographing and selecting your shutter accordingly would seem to be the best way to resolve this issue.

LEDs can be fine. A lot of them have enough ballast to smooth out the AC signal that causes this problem.

I suspect the good ones are the modern variety that run directly from mains and so must have relatively sophisticated circuitry built in to each unit to step the mains voltage down. The older ones that have a simple transformer feeding a low voltage LED lighting circuit may be the problem. I'm guess though, so I hope someone with more knowledge will step in.

You are correct about 2 and 3, and I agree with your approach.
