atournas Posted February 2, 2020 Share #1  Posted February 2, 2020 Advertisement (gone after registration) My 1995 Leica R7, bought then brand new, is behaving strangely recently. Most of the time it works OK but then, suddenly, it would need two windings to be able for the shutter to release. And that with fresh batteries, too. What's more, during its 'stubborn' phase, neither does the independent-of-batteries 1/100 setting work all the times. When first that came up, I was told it was a wind lever problem or perhaps the frame counter, but it looks now to me as if the shutter is not always activated. Has anyone else experienced something similar on R bodies? Any ideas? Thanks.
Advertisement Posted February 2, 2020 Posted February 2, 2020 Hi atournas, Take a look here Leica R7 - erratic behaviour. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
lawman Posted February 4, 2020 Share #2  Posted February 4, 2020 Make sure that you have cleaned the battery terminals (a pencil eraser can help). I had issues with my camera until making certain that good contact with the battery was maintained. earleygallery Posted February 5, 2020 Share #3  Posted February 5, 2020 I don’t think that the batteries would have anything to do with the film advance mechanism which sounds like it’s ‘slipping’. You will need to let a repair guy take a look at it.
