pibitller Posted January 31, 2020 Share #1 Posted January 31, 2020 Advertisement (gone after registration) The work is already done. Maybe design 3 compact type lenses (28mm, 50mm, 75mm).
Advertisement Posted January 31, 2020 Posted January 31, 2020 Hi pibitller, Take a look here For when a QL, with L-mount?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
jaapv Posted January 31, 2020 Share #2 Posted January 31, 2020 Don't hold your breath. The compact variant is the CL, the full-frame one the SL2. The only reason the Q(2) can be the compact size it is, is because of the sensor-lens unit.
nicci78 Posted January 31, 2020 Share #3 Posted January 31, 2020 Oh yes, Q/Q2 are nice combination of small matching lens with leaf shutter, so no focal plane shutter. Everything combined with full frame sensor. A QL has to be bigger to store a proper focal plane shutter. However CL with its smaller APS-C sensor has room to spare for a 1/8000th shutter. M10 is bigger but has to settle with slower 1/4000th shutter. Please remind yourself that the mount is further away from the sensor compare to L-mount. So there are more space inside an M body, than inside the CL or the Q2. Of course you can skip the mechanical shutter à la sigma fp. But be aware that you will experience banding (some artificial lights) and jelly effect with moving subject (longer than 75mm equivalent) 1
