huwge Posted August 7, 2007 Share #1 Posted August 7, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) M8 24 elmarit f8 - really struggling to decide on best 2 lens combo for Ireland, leaving tomorrow. Most likely will go 24, 35 and 75 lux - I think 50 is too near to 35 and yet the 75 may only get occasional use. Is 24 / 35 too close?
Advertisement Posted August 7, 2007 Posted August 7, 2007 Hi huwge, Take a look here Broadway Tower. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
azzo Posted August 7, 2007 Share #2 Posted August 7, 2007 Nice detail, tonality and framing. I like this one Huw. Azzo
hiphop Posted August 7, 2007 Share #3 Posted August 7, 2007 This unusual angle gives excellent results and a good shot. For your trip, I would go with the 24 and 50 Pierre-Olivier
huwge Posted August 7, 2007 Author Share #4 Posted August 7, 2007 Thanks guys. Pierre-Olivier, I am struggling with 50mm on the M8 at the moment and since I am not taking my film M as a back up I am stressing - if my newly refurbished 35 lux was not performing so well with the M8, I would probably have said 24 / 50 and left the 75 lux at home. The 24 is a definite, the view looking south from the tower
andybarton Posted August 7, 2007 Share #5 Posted August 7, 2007 Very nice indeed. While I was at polytechnic in Bristol, almost 30 years ago, I shared a house with the son of the Head Chef at The Lygon Arms in Broadway. We had many a decent Sunday lunch in our student flat, courtesy of his Dad - way beyond a usual student fare, that's to be sure. I also remember a very interesting evening spent in Chipping Campden - but that's another story... William Lamb would like this shot, if he's still watching. huwge Posted August 7, 2007 Author Share #6 Posted August 7, 2007 Thanks Andy - it's a lovely part of the world, even if it is the wrong side of the border from a genetic perspective. I can't believe it didn't rain - nor can I believe how stupid I was to have forgotten to reset the manual WB. Still, easy to remedy when you shoot DNG. Huw So - unable to reach a decision, I have packed 24, 35 lux asph, 50 rigid cron and 75 lux. We shall see which get the most use as I will carry no more than 2 lenses a day. huwge Posted August 7, 2007 Author Share #8 Posted August 7, 2007 Keep going west from Gloucestershire, that border. Although I think Broadway might be in Worcestershire. I can't quite remember what happened to Herefordshire. All the counties I learned as a kid changed, but I think Monmouthshire is Monmouthsire and not Gwent, once more.
