How do I remove the front hood? - Summicron-R 90mm (2-piece hood)

I am trying to remove the front hood of the Summicron-R 90 (the 1977-2000 type, with the 2-piece hood), but I'm having a hard time.

I have tried, unsuccessfully, at unscrewing the top ring on the final hood piece (see A in pic below), the printed ring (see C) and the what seems another ring (see D).

The only ring I have managed to unscrew (without extracting it, however) is the one inside the hood (see B ) which enables the first hood piece to go just below the barrel's end, but then nothing moves much from there, as the final hood still can't go below there.

Is there something I'm missing? Screws that need to be removed to unlock?

Thanks

I have the same lens and have a similar issue. I managed to remove what you list as A and B on your post but now I can't get them back on.. Hood won't go up enough for me to screw them. Was on a shoot and hastily took the rings off to screw on a regular screw onND (usually I use mattebox) and then I couldn't get them back on.

Replying to an old topic, but this might be useful to some: The printed name ring on the front that says "Leitz Canada" ("C" in Leipen's image) can be unscrewed with a friction tool, allowing the entire telescoping hood to slide off the front. You will see on the inner barrel four set screws. You don't have to remove any of the other rings. It is not threadlocked but may be tight,

The foremost screw can be removed that allows the retainer ring (D") holding the front lens cell in to then be spun out, giving you access to the inner surfaces and the aperture iris.

The three rear screws can be loosened if you need to slide out the aperture mechanism and/or adjust the iris.

All the screws have threadlocker and so will need to have acetone applied prior to removal.
