Just a thought, have you tried pushing the AF / MF lock release button while returning it to AF? PG64 of the manual.

Edit Sorry Swirko. You clearly said A not focus. My bad.

I've looked now at my Q2 (sorry, I didn't have a chance to do that before). You should just be able to set a shutter speed with the speed dial and move the aperture ring to "A". There is a little extra resistance on the aperture dial when doing that but not a lot.

Like Stephen_C says. Just a little extra force should turn it to A.  Your camera is new and the detents on the lens are not at all “smoothed” from use. I would cycle it to other f/ stops then just turn harder and move it to A. There’s no mechanical connection to the focusing mechanism. Just turn it harder! Very unlikely, but if it is inoperative, you need to know that and send it to Leica for service.

We had this topic  before with the Q cameras. My new QP appeared to be unable to move without force, but when I went into video mode it was freed and stayed that way thereafter. My Q2 came I believe already in A position. Anyway it moves with little resistance from 1.7.
