Swirko Posted January 10, 2020 Share #1 Posted January 10, 2020 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi, I have Q2 for 1 week. How to set A (auto) mode on aperture ring? When I'm on f/1.7 and want to set 'A' something blocks the ring. I don't want to twist the ring too much.
Advertisement Posted January 10, 2020 Posted January 10, 2020 Hi Swirko, Take a look here Aperture ring to A mode. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Push Posted January 10, 2020 Share #2 Posted January 10, 2020 (edited) Just a thought, have you tried pushing the AF / MF lock release button while returning it to AF? PG64 of the manual. Edit Sorry Swirko. You clearly said A not focus. My bad. Edited January 10, 2020 by Push

Stephen_C Posted January 10, 2020 Share #4 Posted January 10, 2020 Have you tried moving the shutter speed dial from "A" first? Stephen
Swirko Posted January 10, 2020 Author Share #5 Posted January 10, 2020 No, thank you I will check it. But if I set shutter dial to A and then aperture ring to A the camera will be set up to P mode. How to set the camera to S (shutter prority) and auto aperture?
Stephen_C Posted January 10, 2020 Share #6 Posted January 10, 2020 I've looked now at my Q2 (sorry, I didn't have a chance to do that before). You should just be able to set a shutter speed with the speed dial and move the aperture ring to "A". There is a little extra resistance on the aperture dial when doing that but not a lot. Leica Guy Posted January 10, 2020 Share #7 Posted January 10, 2020 Advertisement (gone after registration) Like Stephen_C says. Just a little extra force should turn it to A. Your camera is new and the detents on the lens are not at all “smoothed” from use. I would cycle it to other f/ stops then just turn harder and move it to A. There’s no mechanical connection to the focusing mechanism. Just turn it harder! Very unlikely, but if it is inoperative, you need to know that and send it to Leica for service. Swirko Posted January 10, 2020 Author Share #8 Posted January 10, 2020 Excatly, I forced the ring and it jumped into A Mode. Just more power needed 😄 Thank you all of you for help
microview Posted January 10, 2020 Share #9 Posted January 10, 2020 We had this topic before with the Q cameras. My new QP appeared to be unable to move without force, but when I went into video mode it was freed and stayed that way thereafter. My Q2 came I believe already in A position. Anyway it moves with little resistance from 1.7.
